Yorkshire Coast 10k
So, I entered the Yorkshire Coast 10k. The sprinter in me shouted it.
However, the distance runner, whose influence is stronger and longer with each passing year, held me at home, and ushered me into bed.
A cold that has gripped me for two months now is starting to lift. But I will not abate my recovery just yet. While the kudos of running that race may have been tremendous, I ran the egton 10k because I could.
And that modal verb, the language of possibility - that is what I wish to live for in these next few months more!
And where does it start? A work out with my heart-rate not moving above 120bpm, and with several doctors about as useful as teachers with lives.
